REPORT OF THE SALT LAKE BRANCH

As a result of the visit of Dr. James F. Cooper to Salt Lake City on January 25th, 1925, a local branch of the American Birth Control League was effected. The meeting was held at the Hotel Utah.

The officers chosen to serve the organisation, temporarily, are as follows: Mrs. T. E. Newman, President; Mr. D. L. Oleson, First Vice-President; the Rev. Dr. Elmer I. Goshen, Second Vice-President; the Rev. Frank L. Hunt, Secretary; Mrs. E. D. Hammond, Treasurer.

It was agreed to meet monthly. The February meeting was not a success. Only four members were present. The March meeting was a decided success. There were seventeen present and the interest was profound. One social worker was present who stated that almost daily she was asked for some information as to the means of Birth Control. She became a member of the local branch. Another woman was present who said she had eleven children. That her life has been one of child-bearing and hard work. She said she did not want her daughters to undergo the hard life she had known and wanted to know about whether we stood for murder or safe and ethical Birth Control. We assured her the latter. She joined our local organisation.

Our local branch has a membership of twenty-four. We hope to steadily add to this number. We are encouraging all to become members of the National organisation and to subscribe to the League's publications.

Respectfull submitted,
FRANK L. HUNT,
Secretary pro tem.
