Biographical Text

She was a British feminist and founder of a sex education center for working-class women. In 1936 she founded the Abortion Law Reform Association with Alice Jenkins and Stella Browne and supported it financially. She was a longtime member of Eugencics Society; co-founder in 1936 of Abortion Law Reform Association, which she chaired until 1949. She was the author of The Cost of English Morals and founded and chaired Sex Education Centre. She gave a report of her sex education centre in the East End of London, “A Marriage Education Centre in London,” at the Third Congress of the World League for Sexual Reform in London in September 1929
